A big part of our local community - Our Veterinary Practice has been an integral part of our local community since February 2010. In that time, we’ve helped thousands of our clients cats & dogs, rabbits, rats and even a few birds.
Could you work with us at Timaru’s Family Vet? We offer an externship opportunity for 4th and 5th-year veterinary students. You can work with our experienced veterinarian and support staff. From the first day, you will get hands-on experience in all areas. This includes consultations and procedures. We'll also help with your accommodation and travel expenses during your term breaks.
Timaru’s Family Vet is a small animal practice in Timaru, New Zealand. Our clinic has a skilled veterinarian. We also have a team of professional nurses and client relations specialists (CRSs). We provide top-quality care to our furry patients.
- Work alongside our experienced veterinarian in various clinical scenarios
- Be a vet (supervised). Create treatment plans. Carry out procedures.
- Gain practical experience in routine procedures, including spays, neuters, and dentals
- Assist with patient records and clinic organization
- Provide exceptional patient care and client communication
- Embrace a collaborative approach to veterinary medicine
- Accommodate your externship schedule to align with your term breaks
- Enrolment in a 4th or 5th-year veterinary program at an accredited institution
- Strong enthusiasm for small animal medicine and a desire to learn
