Family Vet Limited
A big part of our local community - Our Veterinary Practice has been an integral part of our local community since February 2010. In that time, we’ve helped thousands of our clients cats & dogs, rabbits, rats and even a few birds.

Welcome to the very first issue of The Paw Print Press, Timaru’s Family Vet’s monthly newsletter for pet owners, families, and anyone who has ever asked, “Is that smell normal?”
Each month we’ll share practical pet health tips, clinic news, secret savings, patient stories, and a few fun extras for the kids, including the grown-up ones.
This month we’re focusing on a Mid-Year Pet Health Reset, with a special look at dental health and the little signs that can be easy to miss.
Inside this issue:
Dental checks, bad breath clues, this month’s secret savings code, Harry’s Travels, The Little Paw Lab activity page, and a sneak peek at the upcoming TFV Family Perks Plan.

Ongoing bad breath can be more than just “pet breath”. It can be one of the early signs of dental disease.
Pets are very good at hiding mouth pain, so dental problems can build quietly in the background. A pet may still eat, play, and act normal even when their teeth or gums are uncomfortable.
Signs to watch for include:
A dental check can help spot problems early, before they become more painful or more expensive to treat.

This month’s secret code is DRAGONBREATH.
Book a dental check in July and use the code DRAGONBREATH. Plus, for our July dental focus, enjoy 15% off TEEF dental support.
TEEF is a dental water additive that can help support oral health as part of your pet’s home dental care routine.
It is not a replacement for a dental check if your pet already has tartar, gum disease, pain, or infection, but it can be a helpful little mouth-care sidekick.

A dental check is a simple way to look for early signs of dental disease before they become bigger problems.
At Timaru’s Family Vet, a dental check helps us assess your pet’s teeth and gums, explain what we are seeing, and guide you on the best next step.
Depending on what we find, that may include:
Dental checks are a great first step for pets of all ages, especially if you have noticed bad breath, tartar, red gums, or changes in eating habits.

Harry has taken on many jobs at Timaru’s Family Vet, most of which he gave himself.
This month, he begins his official Paw Print Press reporting career with a close investigation of the waiting room. There are smells to analyse, chairs to inspect, humans to judge, and Pam and Pearl to carefully bother from a safe-ish distance.
His first report also carries a useful reminder: pets can be very good at acting “fine”, even when something is bothering them.
