The Cyber-Monday Glitch: Consultation Discounts You Weren’t Meant to See

So… this is awkward.

On Cyber Monday, our system decided to get festive and started applying a special discount to consultation fees. We did all the sensible IT things – poked it, tested it, rebooted it – and it stubbornly kept the discount in place.

Rather than fight it, we’ve decided to honour the glitch and let our clients enjoy the savings for a limited time.

What’s the Cyber-Monday Glitch Doing?

For a short period, our system is automatically discounting consultation fees only (not medications, food, surgery, or other services).

Here’s the schedule:

  • December 2025: 15% off consult fees
  • January 2026: 10% off consult fees
  • February 2026: 5% off consult fees

After 28 February 2026, the glitch “expires” and consultations go back to full price, to be replaced by a more formal loyalty scheme.

 Important:

The discount applies to consultation fees only. All other charges are billed at normal rates.

Who Does the Glitch Apply To?

The glitch isn’t completely random – it only applies to clients who meet both of these conditions:

  1. No outstanding invoices
    • Your account with us must be fully up to date (no unpaid or overdue invoices).
  2. More than $100 spent in the last 12 months
    • Your total spend with us in the past 12 months must be over $100.

If both of these are true when our system does its nightly check, you’ll be marked as eligible and the appropriate discount for that month will be automatically applied to your consultation.

How Is Eligibility Checked?

To keep things consistent and fair, eligibility is calculated automatically:

  • Our system runs a check every night at midnight.
  • It looks at:
    • Your account balance (whether any invoices are overdue/unpaid).
    • Your total spend in the last 12 months.

Because this calculation runs overnight, it’s important that:

  • All invoices for the day are completed and finalised on the same day as your visit.

This helps ensure our records are accurate and that the glitch can correctly recognise who qualifies.

Can I Become Eligible for the Glitch?

Yes – in many cases you can.

Scenario 1: You have outstanding invoices

If you have any unpaid invoices and you:

  • Clear all outstanding balances and
  • Pay for today’s visit in full,

then after the overnight update, you may become eligible from your next visit (as long as your total spend is also over $100 in the last 12 months).

That means:

Pay everything off today → from your next visit (before 28 Feb 2026), the discount can apply to your consult, provided you still meet the rules.

Scenario 2: You’re just under the $100 threshold

If, for example, you’ve spent $99 in the last 12 months:

  • You won’t receive the discount on today’s visit, because the system checks your spend before today’s invoice is added.
  • Once today’s visit is completed and included in your total spend, you’ll move over the $100 threshold.
  • After the nightly update, your next visit before 28 Feb 2026 may qualify for the appropriate discount (as long as you have no outstanding invoices).

What Do I Need to Do as a Client?

Mostly: nothing special.

  • Book and attend your consultation as normal.
  • Keep your account fully paid up.
  • Our system will automatically check your eligibility and apply the discount if you qualify.

You don’t need:

  • Coupons
  • Discount codes
  • To ask staff to manually modify your invoice

In fact, part of the “glitch rules” is that the promotion is handled by the system only, not by manual overrides.

Frequently Asked Questions

“Why didn’t I get the discount on my visit today?”

A few common reasons:

  • You had outstanding invoices at the time of the overnight check.
  • Your total spend in the last 12 months was $100 or less at the time of the check.
  • You’ve only just paid off your balance or reached the spend threshold today – in that case, the discount may apply from your next visit (after the nightly update).

If you’re unsure which applies to you, our team can check and explain your current status.

“If I pay off everything today, will I get the discount on this visit?”

No – not on today’s visit.

Our system updates eligibility overnight. If you pay everything off today and meet the spend requirement, you may qualify from your next visit before 28 February 2026.

“Does the discount apply to medications, food, or procedures?”

No.

The Cyber-Monday Glitch applies to consultation fees only. All other items are charged at normal rates.

“Can staff just add the discount manually if I ask?”

As much as we love saying yes, the answer here is no.

To keep things fair, the promotion is system-driven only. Staff have been asked not to manually add this discount outside the automatic criteria.

If you’re not currently eligible, we’re happy to:

  • Explain what’s needed to become eligible for a future visit (e.g. clearing an overdue balance), and
  • Confirm whether you’re likely to qualify next time.
